Low Wray Campsite, Cumbria.

Visitor Services Assistant – Great Langdale Campsite – National Trust

Casual Summer work available

Job description

“Wow!” “What an amazing place!” Just the sort of reactions we love. You’ll love hearing them too, as you help visitors to enjoy a brilliant stay at Great Langdale campsite. Working with a great team, you’ll welcome visitors and help them to explore this beautiful area of the Lake District and to enjoy excellent local climbs, walks and other outdoor activities and attractions.

About the role

Putting your excellent people skills to the best possible use, you’ll be selling admission tickets, promoting membership and Gift Aid – helping us to meet our targets. Most importantly, you’ll be welcoming our visitors so warmly that they feel like guests as they arrive and friends by the time they leave.

You will help to provide our guests with the highest possible standards of cleanliness and maintenance in our toilet blocks, shop, reception facilities and the site in general. You have a great eye for detail, and a flexible way of working. Ideally, you’ll have a genuine knowledge and interest in the work of the National Trust and of the local area. We’d also like you to be comfortable working to measurable targets and to have some cash handling experience.

We believe that people deserve more than just ‘good service’ but an amazing experience they’ll never forget. It’s about believing in what you do, sharing not telling, inspiring others to feel as passionate as you and creating lasting memories.

About you

While the surroundings are amazing and spectacular, make no mistake this is a demanding role, and one that calls for a very special individual. You’ll need to be practical and hands-on, with excellent communication, sales and IT skills, and you will need to be confident working to sales targets. You will be comfortable working on your own or as part of a team.It would be great if you’ve worked in a customer facing role before, such as retail or tourism, but more than anything, it’s more important that you have bags of enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved. You’ll often find yourself managing a number of competing demands and requests.

Company information

Incredibly rewarding We’ll give you all the training and support you need. You can look forward to free admission to all our incredible places and a helpful 20% off at our shops, cafes and restaurants. But they’re just the benefits we can tell you about here.

About us Here at the National Trust, we want even more people to enjoy our extraordinary places. We want people of all ages and backgrounds to get involved, be inspired and love them as much as we do. That’s why we’ve put some bold ambitions in place. We want everyone in England, Wales and Northern Ireland to feel like a member of the National Trust and, by 2020, we want to have grown our membership to more than five million.
