Reid Street Primary School, Darlington are looking for 4 Newly Qualified KS2 Teachers for a 1 September 2015 start.
Students from University of Cumbria are warmly invited to visit Reid Street School situated in the centre of Darlington with a view to submitting an application for one of four positions we have for Newly Qualified KS2 Teachers from 1st September 2015.
We were one of the first Primary Academies in the North East and have recently expanded the teaching space in school to include additional classrooms. Our objective by 1st September 2015 is to recruit four of the best NQTs in the region to teach in the Key Stage 2 team, two positions are available in upper KS2 and a further two in lower KS2. We have class sizes of around twenty in Key Stage 2 and it is for this reason that we are employing additional teachers.
This is part of a long term strategy, although initial contracts for our NQTs will be for one year owing to our caution over future funding uncertainties.
We have a strong track record in successfully recruiting and developing newly qualified teachers. Newly Qualified Teachers appointed to Reid Street School receive a high standard of support for their development. Reid Street’s Co Principal is a Darlington LA Independent Mentor for all NQTs locally providing new entrants to the profession with confidential independent support and advice throughout their induction year. Reid Street School is accredited with the Quality Mark for NQT Mentoring.
As an academy we are independent of local authority control however the terms and conditions of employment for our staff are identical to those in local authority schools.
The School celebrated its 100th anniversary in September 2012. The building is Edwardian in design and whilst the exterior remains largely unaltered, the interior and all classrooms have been modernised within the last five years.
We want to recruit four NQTs with the potential to become successful teachers and possible future leaders in education. We are promoting this opportunity at regional training institutions at this early stage as we know that the most committed and forward-thinking final year education students will already be looking towards the Spring term 2015 when they will begin to apply for teaching jobs from September 2015.
If you are an NQT looking for your first position in employment as a teacher in the Darlington area then please do give us a call on the number below straight away. The positions will go out to advert during February 2015. We want you to visit so that we can give you the time and attention you need in order to help you decide which of our posts to apply for.
