BBC Children in Need is the BBC’s UK Charity and they are looking for talented people to work as part of their Marketing and Fundraising team in Social Media and Content Production.

 

 

Social Media Community Paid Placement 

September 26th to November 18th 2016

 

This role sits within the Marketing & Fundraising team and will focus on supporting the Marketing Officer with managing the social media community.

 

Main duties:

  • To monitor the BBC Children in Need social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube) and respond to our audience; replying to questions, offering encouragement etc
  • To check and post social media content posts provided by the Content Producer
  • To review the discussions around BBC Children in Need and related programmes on our and other social channels and highlight engaging and interesting content that can be used to produce creative content

You need to have:

  • Fantastic and creative copywriting skills and an ability to write with the ‘tone of voice’ appropriate for the audience
  • Great attention to detail with an ability to spot and correct errors in copy and video
  • An understanding of social platforms, how they differ and how to tailor content to them
  • A passion for social media in daily life and an understanding of social media trends
  • Desirable: experience monitoring and managing an online community

Content Production Paid Placement

September 26th to November 18th 2016

 

This role sits within the Marketing & Fundraising team and will focus on supporting the Marketing Officer with the production of video content for social media.

 

Main duties:

To produce 15-20 second short form video content for BBC Children in Need’s social media accounts. This will include:

  • Content promoting fundraising activities and ideas
  • Content based on BBC TV and radio properties that are supporting BBC Children in Need
  • Content highlighting fundraiser and the great work they
  • Content talking about the projects that BBC Children in Need supports
  • Content promoting the main Appeal Night on November 18th
  • To support the Marketing Officer by assisting at video content shoots when required
  • To work alongside the digital team to devise creative ways of engaging our social community during the campaign and to execute video content based on those ideas.

You need to have:

  • Experience working in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Photoshop to produce short form videos, including basic motion graphics
  • An understanding of the unique requirements of social media video content
  • An ability to work on large volume, quick turn-around content, with a need to produce several videos per day
  • Ability to work within pre-defined templates and guidelines
