Industrial Placement Scheme

Well let’s talk about you first. You’re still studying hard at Uni and you’ve got a strong inkling that retail’s your thing. This is a chance to learn the inside scoop on one of the fastest-growing companies in the world. In case you hadn’t heard, Aldi is riding on the crest of a wave right now as a company that’s eating up market share with an impressive sales growth. We are different, we don’t follow the crowd. And one thing’s certain, we’re getting it right.

This will be a challenging and eye-opening introduction to retail life. We’ll give you a surprising level of responsibility, but with plenty of support (in fact many Placement Students notice the ‘family feel’ straight away). There are fast rotations around the business and a chance to express your ideas and perspective along the way. It’s not for everyone, but that’s ok. We only want the people who are hard-working, passionate and quick-thinking. We’ve built our business on a very clear sense of who we are and where we want to be. We hope you’re the same.

It’s going to be a busy, intensive, and inspiring year for you. Starting in July, the placement covers all areas of the business, and ends with a final project set by your Regional Director. You’ll experience everything from shadowing the Store Manager and ordering stock to eventually running the store by yourself.

It’s common sense really. This is a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment so quivering wallflowers probably wouldn’t last five minutes. You’re the kind of person who loves a challenge. Rather than stand around waiting to be told what to do, you’re there in the thick of it – enjoying every opportunity to get involved. You see every tricky moment, every surprising curve ball as a chance to learn and develop new skills. You’re focused, resilient and you’ve got an insatiable appetite for trying things in a fresh way. We’re a very energetic business that will flex and change if there’s a better way of doing something.

Importantly, you’ll also need your own car, a full driving licence and a valid UK work permit. Commitment is obviously key, so you’re able to work 48 hours a week, spread across five days (which includes some weekends).

Closing date:
Open/ongoing
Start date:

07/2015
